Dhiraagu is the biggest telecom service provider in the Maldives. The have a few retail outlets in Male’, the capital of Maldives. One of the outlet which is in Majeedhimagu, where they sell handsets, connections and even bill payments. On 11th Feb, 2008 there was a robbery at this shop.

The shop was with security guards and camera’s and uses magnetic cards to open the shop. We I heard about this incident, I thought, some mobile phones were stolen, but not, more than 1 million Maldivian Rufeeya was missing from the safe. The shop was not broke open and the safe was also closed. So its sure that somebody working there with access to the safe and the security code has done it.

Latest update is that two people has been arrested in this regard and recovered Mrf 100,000 from them and they are offcourse Dhiraagu Staff.
