Vishu - Kerala Festival - April 14th 2008
April 13, 2008
Vishu a festival for Keralites which fall on the first of Malayalam Calendar Medam 1st. Vishu is celebrated as the New year for Keralites / Malayalees and some parts of Tamilnadu.
Traditional people of Kerala celebrated Vishu with lot of joy and mirth. One very interesting custom of Vishu is Vishukani or Kani Kanal (first sight). Under this tradition there is a prescribed list of items that people see first thing on a Vishu morning. The custom stems from the strong belief of the people of Kerala that good things seen on the New Year day brings good luck for the entire year.
I remember my parents and other elders giving me money as Vishi Kai Neetam. My Mother used to wake me up and close my eyes and take me the pooja room and open my eyes to see the “Vishukani”. Vishukani is the first thing that we see at the begining of this new year. Vishukani is Wishing you all a Happy new year
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy new year
December 21, 2007
I would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and prosperous new year.
Christmas is an annual holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus. The date of the celebration is traditional, and is not considered to be his actual date of birth. Christmas festivities often combine the commemoration of Jesus’ birth with various secular customs, many of which have been influenced by earlier winter festivals.

After Christmas, comes a new year. Everybody, plans for something new for coming year and I have many plans too. Many things to be implemented in Life
May God help you archive your goals, but you need to work hard. You are lucky only if you convert opportunities at the right time.
Deepawali - Diwali Greetings
November 6, 2007

Wishing you all a happy Diwali. This time I will be in India during the festival of diwali. Diwali is known to be the festival of lights. During my childhood, we used to celebrate diwali by bursting crackers and eating lots of sweets. I have been staying in Maldives for the past 5 years and this is the first time during my stay in Maldives, I have got a chance to be in India during this festival, though my trip is not to celebrate Diwali.
