There are about 85 resorts in Maldives which are fully functional and 15 more new resorts coming up. Even though there are good numbers of resorts here, almost all the resorts are full and over booked during the peak season. Mostly the guests are from Europe and many are repeat guests. Tourist development in the archipelago has growth rings as obvious as those of a tree.

There are about 90 resorts in Maldives and some more new resorts coming up like the Shangri-la and recently Irufushi resort. I have wrote about different resorts which I have visited like Kanuhura, Olhuveli, Vilu Reef, Bandos, Meeru Island Resort, and many. There are millions of tourists coming to Maldives every year and the tourism in Maldives has gone up after tsunami had effected Maldives.

Mostly the tourists coming to Maldives are from Europe and Asia

Irufushi is a new resort in Maldives at Noonu Atoll. The resort is a huge island with 52 acres for land. Maldivian Air Taxi offer the transfer facility from Male’. It took 45 minutes to reach the resort. The soft opening was yesterday with some selected guests. I had gone there for some official work and got chance to stay at the resort and go around the island and all the facilities. Still lots of work to be finished. The resort seems to be targeting high class guests. I got some pictures and videos of Irufushi resort which you can find below
