Richard Gere Kissing too costly for Shilpa Shetty

At a function on Aids awareness, Hollywood star Richard Gere Kissed Shilpa shetty and this has taken a bad twist this time. The Media has taken the responsibility to make is as worse at it can.

Political parties in India has now the contract to take deciplinary action against Shilpa Shetty for getting Kissed at a function. She could have rejected, but she says that she did not want a Foriegner to get a bad memory from India, even though its against the Indian culture.

Second spotlight on Shilpa Shetty this year, the last one was during the Big Brother Show.

Again these are positive things which is good for gaining popularity

Journalists beaten by security Guards at Ash Abhi Wedding

Some journalists were injured when they tried to take some snaps of the Great event at Pratheeksha, the venue where the wedding of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan was going on. The security guards were Black Cat Commando’s of Amar Singh who is a very close friend of Amithabh Bachchan and he had come for the Function.

The journalist were angry and organized a protest against this incident. Amithji apologized for this incident and explained the situation.

Being so popular, the bride, the bridegroom and in-laws, the public expect to have a glimpse of the ceremony or atleast the media people. Amithabh explains that he is very sorry for the incident and this was a personal family function, so proper arrangements were not made for media coverage.

Brian Lara retires from cricket

Brian Lara at the age of 37, played his last innings at Bridge town yesterday, 21st April 2007  druing the World Cup Super Eight match between West Indies and England. He has scored 11953 runs in 131 test matches with 34 test centuries. He scored 10405 runs in one day international with 19 centuries. He has some records in his credits.

I wish him all the best for his future plans. Hopefully we may be able to see him as a commentator or an expert during other cricket matches

Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Wedlocked

Abhishek and Aishwarya got married yesterday, 20th April 2007, a day which they will remember through out their life. A much awaited event was held at the Bachchan’s  Banglow Pratheeksha at Juhu. The banglow was fully decorated with Flowers and lightings. This marriage was something what we see in Hindi movies. Abhishek on Horse and baraaths and baraathi’s and dances and all. Air Sahara Effect On Maldives

Maldives is a country very near to India, just 55 minutes fly from Trivandrum International Airport. I have been traveling from Maldives to India quite frequently for the past four years. Indian Airlines was the only operator for this sector. It was sort of Monopoly for them till Air Sahara started operating daily flights few months back. People living in places like Cochin had to again travel, after they get down at the Trivandrum International Airport. Now they can continue the same flight till Cochin, Nedumbasheri International Airport.

Wikipedia Dominating Google Search

Recently I could notice the importance of Wikipedia in Google Search results. Wikipedia has high pagerank and most of its pages get listed on the Google SERPs. This is because of the ranking and relevance of the pages on Wikipedia.
But very often I get frustrated to see results like this and more over when there are millions of pages and domains on the world wide web, there should be some reason to list other websites on the top of Google SERPs. This happens only on Google and not other search engines like Yahoo, MSN or Ask.

Google search results are sorted giving importance to pagerank and other factors, but I have found many searches which lists pages from Wikipedia on the top, but when I go through other results which are much more relevant than the results on WikiPedia.

Ill Effects of Blogging on health

Recently a IIT in Bombay put some restriction on using of Internet at the students hostel. The reason behind this was the students being less active in participating in sports activities. We can find lots of youngsters who just stick to their computer for long hours and they never get time to go out for other activities like sports or workouts. This really will effect the health and its a real concern.

In my case also the condition is the same. I spend more than 12 (sometimes more than that) hours a day sitting in front of my laptop. Some people do blogging as profession and some for fun. What will be the future? [Read more]

Fishing Industry In Maldives

Recently I got a chance to visit one of the Fish Processing Units in the Maldives. The company name is HMS Maldives, which is just 20 minutes travel from the capital island Male’. We left Male’ at about 10am for some official work. This factory is situated on an Island called Boduhuraa, which is besides the Four Seasons Resorts Maldives. Four Seasons resort is one of the best resorts in the Maldives which is located on an Island called Kudahuraa.

This fish processing unit is well equipped with all the latest facilities and equipments. They have their own Power plant and Water desalination plant and very strong Ice Plant. In Maldives, the fishing Industry and the Tourism Industry are the highest foreign exchange earners. There are about 9 Fish processing units, the biggest called MIFCO (Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited) which is owned by the government. Each Fish processing has its own quality control department and each consignment is fully checked to meet all the standards of Export.

Bandos Island Resort

Last week I had a chance to go to Bandos Island Resort, which is the oldest resort in the Maldives. Its just 20 mins travel from the Capital City, Male’. My company had some Guest Doctors from India, so we just took them there for a half day trip. We enjoyed the beach and bar..

We left from Male’ at 8.00 am from the Jetty No 1. It was a very short trip, but our guests enjoyed it. We returned at 1pm as they had to check-in at 13.00hrs at the Male’ International Airport. I dropped them at the Airport and came back to Male’.
